A New Industry Is Created
While working for Associated Press, our founder Brett West observed that The New York Times, Daily News and New York Post were all independently collecting the same movie showtimes each week. Realizing he could save these companies time and money, Brett started Cinema-Source in 1995 – the first company dedicated to collecting, compiling and providing movie showtimes to newspapers. |

Getting America to the Movies on Time
Word quickly spread through the media industry and soon many of the country’s largest newspaper publishers including Gannett, Knight Ridder and McClatchy sought out Cinema-Source to compile their movie timeclocks. Around the same time, emerging Internet companies like MSN and Yahoo! began calling about obtaining Cinema-Source’s movie listings for use on their websites. |

From the Big Screen to Broadway and Beyond
Conversations with two major customers, The New York Times and AOL, led to expansion into the live theatre listings business. Before long we were covering all genres of the entertainment industry. Event-Source, our “what’s going on around town” database, was born. |

The Marketing Dream Team Is Assembled
Having redefined the movie showtimes industry, Cinema-Source began receiving inquiries from movie theatre owners seeking help with their marketing activities. Brett West assembled the best and brightest exhibitor marketing team in the country and launched ExhibitorAds to produce marketing services for exhibitors. Exhibitor giant, AMC Theatres, was the first customer of ExhibitorAds. Today, the division services more than 200 different exhibitors in the United States, United Kingdom and Ireland. |

In August 2007 Brett West bought back the company he founded in 1995 and created a holding company named "West World Media." Many exciting projects and services are currently in development at West World Media, to be launched in the coming months. |
